Analysis of a Case Study
Brief Summary
The case study “Honor Code: A sticky Situation in Business School (A)” talks about a person who had made significant progress in both his personal life and career advancement. At a very young age, the individual was a director of a company and managed about $350 million. The firm was growing at the rate of 15% yearly (Michigan Ross School of Business, 2012). Due to the person’s great contributions to the company, he was chosen to enroll in an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. In particular, the individual joined one of the best institutions of higher education, University of Michigan. The young director performed better in his studies more than he anticipated. He received financial and emotional support from the organization. However, things started getting ugly when a new board of directors was appointed. The management began by dismissing the individual’s MBA program. Although the new board allowed the person to continue with his studies after negotiation, they pressured him. Things deteriorated when the director’s commitments increased where he became unable to focus on his studies. He forwarded his colleague’s test by mistake. Moreover, both the company and the university called the director where they requested more information about the test. Consequently, the downfall of the leader was significantly attributed by the change of the firm’s management.
