In the corporate world, a lot of issues that put businesses in reputational damage have often been happening. Instances involving corporate fraud, environmental pollution, and mistreatment of workers have happened once in a while. Due to their damaging effect and the fact that such occurrences are unethical, corporate social responsibility (CSR) has increasingly become a critical requirement in the business world. While using Tesla, Wal-Mart, and Facebook, CSR emerges in light of the need to promote social good while avoiding ethical issues.
To a significant extent, CSR involves being mindful of a company’s activities in society. The other critical pillars of this crucial business practice include the economy and the environment. That being the case, CSR integration is the promotion of a positive relationship with the people that a company serves- directly and indirectly. For instance, the Enron scandal where the management engaged in corporate fraud is a perfect case illustration of what business irresponsibility entails. When companies engage in fraudulent activities, they act against the basic tenets of CSR. As a way of safety enhancement, it is essential not only to be conversant with the main principles of CSR but also embrace them as a part of regular business practices.
