The global financial crisis between 2007 and 2008 is considered as the worst economic meltdown since the Great Recession of the 1930s. The infamous financial crisis began in 2007 with subprime mortgage market plunging into the crisis in the United States. It soon developed into a global banking crisis pushing major financial institutions on the verge of collapse. Unfortunately, some banking firms such as Lehman Brother could not survive the market volatility and were forced to file for bankruptcy. The financial institutions were taking the excessive risks by the time following a brief economic boom before the end of 2006. The financial crisis was therefore characterized with major bail outs by the banks and credit firms. Extenuating fiscal and monetary policed were also incorporated by the Fed and central banks to mitigate deteriorating health of the international financial system.
