Digital technology

Description

Communication technology

Woolworth stores are using communication technology to run their day-to-day objectives. Technologies such as Microsoft team, zoom, and skype are vital to strategic goals of enhancing customer satisfaction and offering the best range of products. By staying connected anywhere, anytime, the company officials have been able to talk about issues affecting the company, innovate, and solve problems. However, communication technology is not widespread in the company.

Conferencing technology

Conferencing technologies allow two or more managers or employees at Woolworth stores to communicate in real-time through the internet. Employees can view a unified screen such as Microsoft team and zoom, where they will discuss issues and reconnect teams. Through shared screens, employees discuss and brainstorm on issues facing the company. Still, the adoption of this technology is low, with top management being the primary users.

Coordination technology

Coordination technology especially scheduling systems and e-calendars, are day-to-day technologies used in Woolworths stores. The company can coordinate daily activities at the store and manage its calendars with scheduling systems. E-calendars remind management at respective stores of recurring events and meetings. These play a vital role in attaining the company’s specific goals and strategies. Managers in Woolworth averagely use coordination technology.
