ACTIVITY 1
I firmly agree with this statement because these study skills help students to determine the importance of information in a text, whether the information is proven to be useful or not, and also to have a better understanding of the context they studied. Recognizing information enables students to distinguish between relevant and non-relevant information, as to apply the correct gathered information in areas which they are ought to be used. For example, if you are preparing for an examination, you search for information that is needed for better comprehension of the content you studied, and the information you gathered are then revised so you can distinguish between the most and least important information in which you can then apply your newfound knowledge into your course.
Most certainly, these study skills give students an advantage over those who do not because lack of these skills clearly puts the students at a disadvantage whether in school/college, university, or maybe even in their daily lives. Many students have struggled to incorporate these study skills into the bigger picture of knowledge that they will need in their examinations, not to mention their daily lives. However, these study skills can prove to be of use and helpful if applied properly. By applying these skills in their studies, students can further develop note-taking skills like using note cards to learn terminologies which are usually included into the examination syllabus.
Students who lack of these skills usually need remedial classes to catch up due to always falling behind in coursework and dropping out of school in the process. Therefore, having these study skills do help to dramatically lower the risk of academic struggles and failure to complete a college/university degree. This in turn helps the students to achieve their goals not just on an academic level, but also beneficial to their dail...
