The Theory of Human Caring
This theory was developed between the year 1975 and 1979 by Jean Watson. The theory was founded on the basis of caring being one of the major responsibilities of a nurse. Besides caring being an emotion driven-action, it was also studied as a philosophy and science (Watson, 1979). Generally, it’s the mandate of a nurse to ensure the well-being of a patient and ensure that diseases do not recur in future.
Watson’s theory was put into practice in Turkey where a lot of women were going through distress of infertility. Nursing cares were offered during the twelve days of waiting pregnancy test results.
