According to Roberts, a world view is the perspective from which a person understands reality (2019). It comprises any ideology, theology, philosophy, movement or religion that provides a way of understanding God, the world and man’s relation to both. Previous studies assert that a world view is the framework in which an individual or group of persons view reality and make sense of life and the world.
Cultural competence in healthcare is having the ability to deliver health care services that meet the cultural, social and linguistic needs of patients by providing culturally competent care, providers can help improve patient outcomes, quality of care and helps to reduce or eliminate health disparities related to race and ethnicity (hpi.georgetown.edu, 2019). Spiritual competence, on the other hand, is a form of cultural competence that deals with religion and spirituality, and an individual’s personal worldviews.
