Subject: Site selection for the new regional office
A major approach that the travel company could use to expand its business in the present competitive environment is through launching regional offices. Of note, the company has received proposals for selecting a site for opening a new eastern regional office to offer efficiency to customers. As such, we have come up with data-based information that will help the company select the most appropriate site for the new office.
The Site Selection Committee proposed a number of eastern regions that could suit the operations of the company. Some of the proposed regions include Baltimore (BWI), New York City (NYC), Boston (BOS), Washington DC (WAS) and Philadelphia (PHL) travel destinations. Using the data available from Orbitz to calculate the fare prices and the time taken for nonstop flights we have come up with the most appropriate region for the office. In addition to that, we have tabulated the statistical information relating to time arrival at every airport, which is based on the flight delay. To allow for a robust answer, we have calculated the average for an annual period of on-time arrival of flights to every proposed destination. The results are expressed into percentages as shown in the excel table.
