The state of Georgia Collects revenue from Lottery funds, taxes and fees. In the year,2010,50 billion dollars a year in tickets were bought for government-run games (Hayes, 2011). The essay seeks to illustrate how lottery funds should be used in the state of Georgia.
State governments have the responsibility to provide its citizens with basic amenities. Lottery money in Georgia needs to be used to fund for environmental protection, health services, education programs. Provision of better education to learners improves the state economy as students get the needed fundamental principle of knowledge and research, in particular, fields that pay back dividends to the government later (Ebert & Culyer, 2014).
A healthy population results into a nation with the healthy workforce that drives a country’s economy to higher significant levels (Dunn & Norton, 2013). A healthy population is the backbone of any nation. Better health facilities eradicate the number of diseases in an area. A lot of funds that will have otherwise been spent in paying off hospital bills are used in development projects that propels the government to higher levels economically.
The environment provides us with a lot of services ranging from air purification, provision of foodstuff to medicine and scenic beauty. The state government of Georgia needs to spend some extra income on trying to replenish the environment to avoid its exhaustion.
