Reflection on diversity
Most life lessons are always experienced in different ways, how we relate to people who are different from us mold our development. Our personality, color, ethnic, class points how different we are from others. However, despite the differences the formality of adopting and fitting into the society remains to be the most important factor of our diverse characteristics. Just as Trees (2013), explains it, out differences should not dismantle us but instead unite us, it is for this reason that have always consider my diversity as an opportunity.
As a kid, I used to feel I was different, and I felt like I did not belong with my peers, my family background, language, and culture was different from most students in my class. Despite, speaking a common language in school still I felt something missing. I had difficulty interacting with most students in my class fearing they could reject me and worse brand me an outcast. I considered being diverse and different from other kids in my class a nightmare to my personal life and social interaction. Being the only Black American in my class, made me look different from the rest of my classmate making it hard to camouflage and blend in, I felt like disowned in most of the activities that my peers indulged in. When it comes to choosing a pattern, I felt the order one out, this challenges compelled me to feel more alone and diverse from the rest of my class.

Despite, teaching from school that were are all equal, I still felt it hard to accept them. To me, I consider Muslim as terrorist, and that they were dangers. Our diverse religious and culture did not allow me to accept them and always avoided interacting with them. The stereotypic ideas that we hold in our minds do not permit us to be equal; they bring differences in our personality and character affecting our general relationship with a particular group. For instance, Muslims have been associated with terrorism and other inhumane activity. Therefore make it hard to accept such individual given that we are diverse and different (Rhone, 2012).
Teamwork is the essence of success; I came to learn about this during my early educational life when we combined by our teacher in a contest. We learned to table out our differences and work together as a team to win the competition; the significant lesson was to overlook our difference and weakness and work together as a team. First to be equal friendship must be developed irrespective of your diverse background. During my connection with those whom I considered differe...
