The Importance of High Speeds
Speed is arguably one of the most observed factors on our roads. Most roads bear road signs relating to speed limit. These signs bear the maximum or minimum speeds beyond which drivers should not exceed. High speeds are more often than not linked to most accidents on the roads. On the other hand, low speeds put at risk the safety of road users as well. Therefore, even though high speed is highly criticized, it comes along with multiple benefits which should not be ignored.
Firstly, high speeds contribute to faster delivery of goods and services. Goods under transit will take a shorter time to reach their desired destinations when moved at a high speed. By moving goods and services faster, businesses thrive as opposed to when the goods and services take longer on the roads. Similarly, medical services are accessed in a faster and more effective manner. It is easier to relocate patients from one hospital to another to access crucial medical services by using fast-moving ambulances. By so doing, the healthcare system becomes more reliable.
