Abstract
This paper investigates the manner in which a regional public university is promoting retention and persistence in an online graduate education program. The sample includes candidates pursuing degrees in Student Development and Leadership in Higher Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Administration, and Guidance and Counseling. They are enrolled in Social and Cultural Influences, Test and Measurement, and Applied Research online courses. Quantitative and qualitative methodologies of data collection are used to determine the number of participants that show persistence, drop out, and their opinions about the same. The findings include persistence rate of 90% for Test and Measurement and Cultural Influences courses and 82% for Applied Research.
