Technology is one of the most pivotal milestones in the history of the advancement of humanity since the last 50 years. It has become an everlasting patrimony that alongside its advantages are unassailable demerits. Technology, if misused can have adverse effects in different respects of life. Nearly every aspect of life today is in a way inclined to technology. People have become entirely reliant on technological advancements so much that it has become hazardous, contrary to how it was 50 years ago.
The most common challenge with the modern technology is the declination of socialization skills. Unlike how it was 50 years ago, with the invention of the internet, social media websites have sprung on the web. Dating has completely transformed since getting a soulmate is a matter of just a few clicks on the particular websites. Social isolation takes path in one’s life leading to depression among other psychological issues. One becomes unable to create and sustain healthy real-life relationships. Communication skills decline as they get more used to typing rather than communicating authenticaslly with fellow peers (“Demerits of Modern Technology”, n.d.). It eventually takes a toll on one’s mental and psychological health.
