Motor vehicles continue to be the main means of transport throughout the world. This is mainly due to their wide accessibility, acceptance and convenience they provide the users. With current development in technology, the motor vehicle industry is not left back. In recent times, there has been introduction of many new models of vehicle that are claimed to be good for the economy. Most of these new models of vehicles have moved from the traditional use of gasoline and are now hybrid or electric. However, the economy vehicles are still not better than the fuel system vehicles. There are many are many advantages of the fuel system vehicles over the economy vehicles.
The use of technology in research and manufacturing of the economy vehicles makes has pushed the cost of the vehicles higher above the fuel system vehicles (Ramakrishna 2012). This makes them unaffordable to many and less accessible. Many people as a result tend to be in favour of the fuel system cars over the economy cars.
The fuel system cars benefit from the huge investments of fuel station establishments. This means the vehicles enjoy easy access of fuel stations. The electric vehicles however do not benefit from such investment due to shortage of recharge points. Not every place benefits from recharge. When one is taking a long trip, the lack of recharge points may make one get stuck when they run out of charge.

Electricity is also not provided for free and use of these vehicles may have a huge impact on the electricity bill. For countries where there is frequent electricity shortage, electric vehicles may not be effective to use. According to Mi, Masrur & Gao (2011), there is also a lot of time wastage when charging the electric vehicles. While fuel system cars take only some few minutes to fill the tank, electric vehicles can take up to six hours to be fully charged.
The economy cars are limited when it comes to the range they can cover and the speed they can use to travel. An electric car for instance can only be used to travel for some short distance and then be recharged (Mi, Masrur & Gao 2011). It is not convenient to use these cars while travelling for long distances. This is also due to lack of recharge points when the charge runs low.
Many people are accustomed to the noise that they hear when a vehicle is near them. In most instances, this noise makes them to clear the road and give way for the vehicle to pass. Economy cars are very silent and it is hard to note when one is approaching. Although this will reduce noise pollution, it may also end up causing a lot of accidents.
