Impacts of Silk Road
Silk Road mainly refers to a network of trade routes linking East Asia and South East Asia with South Asia, the Arabian, Persia, Southern Europe, and East Africa. It connected those regions to the cultural, economic, political, and regional interaction from the second century to the 18th century. It was mostly used to carry ideas and goods between China and Rome- This route also helped Indians bring Buddhism to China and Nestorian the same route brought Christianity. With the rise of Arab power in Levant and steady loss of Roman territory, the silk road became unsafe to travel hence no longer in use.
The goods transported along the Silk Trading Route helped bring new food and improve on fashion all over Europe and Asia. They were precious goods to buy like clay, metal, and textiles that were regarded as essential goods for trade because of their high value in West and East Asia- this led to the introduction of new fashion and style hence improving the textile industry region. It also led to the introducing of exotic flavours and foods like pepper, which were regarded as very precious commodities in the west.
