What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism refers to the act of taking ones writing, song, speech, and idea using it them as your own without the consent of the original owner (Roig, 2010). Majority of things people often plagiarize include information from the books, articles, songs, pages from the websites, shows from television, interviews, and artwork from different media.
How will you avoid plagiarism?
The best way of avoiding plagiarism is simply by avoiding the act of coping other peoples’ work. Alternatively, one can legally borrow ideas and information of other peoples’ works by citing the original owners of the information in one’s work (Adhikari, 2010). Additionally, one can also avoid plagiarism by rephrasing all his or her sentences in order to eliminate any instance of plagiarism. Students should ensure that they eliminate any instance of plagiarism in their papers before submission to the school authorities. The act of acknowledging the original owners of ideas and information in ones work not only aids in avoiding plagiarism, but also proves that the student did thorough in his or her research when doing their presentation.
