Effective pain management.
Effective pain management is the best practice to ensure that the patient feels as minimal pain as possible during the healing process. It will involve administering the right painkillers, the right diet for the patient, and proper positioning. As a medical practitioner, a system of reducing medical errors will also help in effective pain management ADDIN EN.CITE Anderson20019(Anderson & Webster, 2001)9917Anderson, David JWebster, Craig SA systems approach to the reduction of medication error on the hospital wardJournal of advanced nursingJournal of advanced nursing34-4135120010309-2402(Anderson & Webster, 2001). If medical errors are minimized during the treatment process, the patient will as well experience very minimal pain during the healing process.
Patient recovery.
Patient recovery is the transition from the sick state to good health. The duration varies from patient to patient, depending on the level of sickness. A patient who has been involved in a fatal accident will need more days to recover than one who has headaches. The pain levels and procedures to minimize pain in the two scenarios will as well differ.

The psychological effect of pain in patients has an adverse effect on their recovery. In some instances, the pain treatment could also be having side effects on the patient. This can lead to further complications and thus delayed recovery. The use of opioids is preferred in moderate to severe pain treatment, but their side effects can sometimes impede their use ADDIN EN.CITE Sinatra201010(Sinatra, 2010)101017Sinatra, RaymondCauses and Consequences of Inadequate Management of Acute PainPain Medicine
