Abstract
With the increased capitalized economies in various countries around the world, industrialization has just become the core of business ventures. For an industrialized country, it requires enough resources that can forever maintain and balance the status of the economy or even facilitate its growth. Raw materials are sometimes not difficult to access and the states around the world are always struggling to assemble as much raw materials as they can to facilitate the normal operation of firms categorized under different industries in the economy.
For any industry to run smoothly, energy requirements must be satisfied. This is quite challenging because most of the energy sources are non-renewable and their continued use means depletion. It has taken long for most people to deduce the most renewable sources of energy that cannot be exhausted no matter how tremendous the consumption amounts to. Solar and wind energy have come into action in an attempt to maintain the energy consumption balance, but this has been more impossible because the two cannot make the best substitute of the current used sources. However, finding out the substitutes means exploring more sources of energy. When combined together, the sources can end up meeting the undying demand. Biofuel production forms part of the substitutes that can effectively be put to use without perceptively affecting the immediate surroundings.
Most reliable resources reveal that currently, states are exploring biofuels that have been deduced to provide quite substantial energy. Developed countries like the United States are making use of the most sophisticated equipment in reaping the energy. It is more advantageous because biofuels are more environmental friendly compared to other sources.
Introduction
Energy is one of the most challenging issues that cannot be handled within the limits of presumption, which revolves around the ignorance of surviving with available few sources of energy. With the undying efforts of people in finding more sources of energy, it has just been found that living things can also form part of the sources that can avail substantial energy to be used in the community. Biofuel is the fuel that has been found to be containing energy from geologically most recent carbon fixation. Such fuels can substantially be produced from the living organisms like plants and microalgae. Biofuels have increased in popularity because of the unstoppable rising prices in energy, as well as the dire need for energy security in the current economy. By contrast, biofuel production can as well be understood as the most outstanding processes of producing biofuel through processes that involve chemical reactions and esterification. The whole process makes use of the vegetable and animal fats that are usually reacted with the short chain alcohols including ethanol and methanol. Despite the availability of an almost immediate source of energy, energy production by making use of the biofuels involves tedious processes that may take a lot of time to produce substantial energy. However, with technological advancements, there is a great possibility that easier means of carrying out the process might be invented with time. The start-up of various energy plants across the globe is quite promising and this avails a great hope that people will soon enjoy the energy from the biofuels through simpler means, as compared to the previous methods. Biofuel offers best alternative source of energy that is quite inexpensive.
Literature Review
Many scholars, who have deeply studied most of the energy production processes, argue that the absolute production of the liquid bio fuels has rapidly been increasing over the years. Most of the governments around the globe are attempting to setup the targets with an intention of increasing the proportion of the bio fuel energy mix, which is meant for energy security, rural expansion and finally, climate change alleviation. The most reliable documented sources and other research materials unravel the unfailing demand for biofuel, which has been increasing and this depicts a future increase in biofuel production. The current statistics reveal that the observable bioenergy accounts for almost 10% of the total global energy production. Basing on some of the case studies, it is evident that the description of bioenergy involves energy produced from any source of biomass, which includes the animals, plants as well as the organic wastes. The use of bioenergy ranges from the traditional energy used by the rural population to the use of liquid biofuel in the advanced transport sector. Some of the credible sources argue that since the term biofuel entered the energy lexicon, there has been a more evident steady stream of advancements in the sector (Sheila, 2009).
Despite the most supported arguments over the biofuel production, it is clearer that biofuels can be generated from the organic sources, considering that the first generation biofuels, as they are known, were produced from food crops (Msangi et al. 2008). According to Msangi (2008), 98% of the biofuel production involves the primary production of ethanol from sugars and at the same time, the biodiesel from oil seeds. It is argued that the main crops, which are used in ethanol production, include sugar, maize, oil palm, and rapeseed that are majorly used in the production of biodiesel. The second generation of biofuel production entailed a more complex program. It is deduced that it made use of the advanced technology especially when breaking down the cellulose and l
