Female superheroes have indeed been underrepresented in superhero films for a long time. They have a low ranking even for the few novels and movies accessible, such as Elektra from 2005 and Catwoman from 2004. Previous heroic female artworks' underwhelming performances have stifled the desire to create more. In this research, some explanations for the low popularity of female superhero artworks are examined.
The main reason is that there are not enough fans. As per Moloney (2014), young men make up most of the fanbase for superhero films. Male superheroes do not excite guys for a variety of reasons. The consensus is that male-dominated superhero films with well-known characters will sell better than heroine films, according to Moloney (2014). Female superhero movies have a poor box office rating, making a small profit, and producers are hesitant to invest in them. As a result, Warner Bros. Pictures turned down the Wonder Woman script for several years before creating it Moloney (, 2014).
Second, most film studios are businesses with investment goals, and they are less likely to invest in films or books that do not sell well.
