Introduction.
The major increase in Unemployment rates has been a concerning issue to most countries generally and this has several effects. High youth unemployment has a negative impact on the economic growth and productivity that can’t be ignored. There is a risk of loss of talent and skills since a great amount of university graduates are unable to find a job and put their knowledge and capabilities into producing innovation and contributing to economic growth. Employers have a fundamental contribution in tackling youth unemployment as they provide job opportunities which enables young people to enter the labor market.
Problems faced and measures taken to solve youth unemployment.
Some of the problems caused by unemployment to the individual include;-
Health issues; Being unemployed can lead to various mental health issues especially if an individual desperately wants a job but can’t find employment. Tension can occur causing stress and strain on the body. The longer the unemployment goes on, the more severe the health consequences, with increased depression and other health issues worsening over time. In addition to the obvious loss of income, unemployed workers were found to have lost friends and self respect. The longer the unemployment goes on it becomes more difficult for the worker to find employment again.
Not enough money; this is one of the adverse effects on the individual since everything in the world costs money. If an individual has a family it’s going to be difficult.
