Introduction
Medics at various hospitals practice euthanasia on patients when they feel that the patient should die because of going through extreme health conditions that are beyond the doctors' intervention capacity to restore normal health of a particular patient (Rachels, 1975). A convention distinguishes active and passive euthanasia. In active euthanasia, the doctors or the medics takes an action in aiding the death of the patient otherwise considered not being able to recover health wise while in passive euthanasia, the doctor does not initiate a direct action that aids in the actual death of the patient but only withholds service to let the patient die. This paper discusses official stand of the American Medical association on euthanasia, pain of euthanasia, associated issues and the moral aspects of life and death.
