The Epidemic Intelligence Service is considered a special post graduate training program that goes for two years. It is usually an on job training program for the professionals in the health field who are interested in advancing their knowledge in the sector of the applied epidemiology. It is a program that was developed and started in the year 1951 and up to now, over 3000 officers have been attracted to the course.
