Heart Failure is a multifaceted clinical syndrome of functional and neurohormonal regulation abnormalities of left ventricular. These syndromes are accompanied by fluid retention, reduced longevity, and effort intolerance. This condition affects over six million American citizens, and it is expected to increase by 46% by the year 2030 (Lynch, 2018). There is a global increase in the prevalence of this condition among patients at an alarming rate. The health system of various disorders is burdened internationally by this disorder (Dinh et al. 2018). Heart failure disorder has a complex pathophysiology process. It leads to physicians prescribing difficult medical procedures and various drugs to patients.
The complex nature of varying pharmacological cocktail and lack of medical knowledge on the patient's part increases medication misadventure of the treatment prescribed. Medication misadventure is associated with a reduction of proper healing, hence resulting in the increment in the rate of the readmission of patients involved. There is a high rate of readmission of heart failure patients. Study finding indicates that over 50% of heart failure patients are readmitted within six months after discharge from hospital (Lynch, 2018). The studies finding further indicates that over 50% of patients readmission can be preventable if patients could be properly educated on how to adhere to the physician medical prescription (Lynch, 2018). Thus, there is a need to implement appropriate teaching method of educating the patient on how to adhere to heart failure medications prescribed by the doctor.
