History, Evolution and Uses of Medical Terminology
The field of medical terminology is an especially challenging one in that it contains a great deal of terms that are difficult to learn and certainly to understand. It is also often referred to as "The Language of Medicine", because it is in these terms that medical professionals all around the world are able to communicate with each other (Melkonian and Shafer, 2018). Originating from the ancient Greek and Latin languages, medical terminology is absolutely essential to any student who is aspiring to have a career in any aspect of the medical field. After all, medical terminology is what allows medical professionals of all types to communicate effectively with one another as well as with patients.
