Hormone Replacement Therapy refers to a treatment administered to women used to release symptoms related to menopause. The therapy involves boosting female oestrogen and progesterone hormones in women they approach menopause. In such situation, women stop experiencing menstrual cycle because the ovary tends to stop producing eggs in the periodical four weeks intervals.
Like any other remedy to a problem, Hormone Replacement Therapy has both benefits and risks to the users. Over the years, medical researchers have tried to analyze the strength and limitation associated with HRT. The main advantage of HRT is that it tends to make a vital change in the recipient's quality of life and nature of wellbeing as a woman. Another significant importance is that HRT tends to reduce the susceptibility of women developing cancer of the rectum and colon, and other complications such as osteoporosis. Additionally, HRT process has proven to be a boost to the macular part of the retina thus prevents its degeneration and consequently promotes the vision sharpness (Buttaro & Trybulski, 2012).
On the other hand, the problem has limitation too. For instance, a combined HRT can trigger malignant cells, which can cause womb cancer, ovarian, and breast cancer that is more prevalent. Other dangers posed to users of HRT are the likelihood of developing pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) which causes blood clotting. The limitations are likely to happen when a combined HRT treatment is applied (Buttaro & Trybulski, 2012).
Nonetheless, I still support HRT because experts have approved that the strengths can outweigh the limitation if HRT is administered on patients on a short-term basis, that is, less than five years.
