iCARE to Inter-professional Teams
Introduction
The interprofessional team within healthcare significantly improves quality service delivery to the consumers and general positive outcomes in the healthcare organization. Therefore, it is highly recommendable for any facility to implement the idea for interdisciplinary since it has associated merits. In the present working environment, that is not an exemption since the approach is exercised where the staffs and patients witness positive outcomes (Haas, 2016). Precisely, the type of interprofessional approached used is the “emergency teams” where its role is to take care for patients with emergency medical care such as accidents. The team has been relatively performing well; however, some flaws are depicted. That points out the need to improve the team on various aspects as mentioned here. First, it is vital to share responsibilities amongst the team and enhance communication for proper collaboration. That would maximally improve the input of the team to achieve its goals.
Compassion
Bedbound care is one of the nursing actions whereby it would make an impact when integrated into interprofessional teams such as an emergency room team. Typically, the nursing action is an element of intervention that aid in attaining the oriented goal in a patient recovery process. Therefore, compassion would make a positive impact on a team anticipating positive outcomes. Compassion defines more than relieving pain, but having a deeper experience of the patient retains dignity and independence. In this scenario of an emergency unit, the nurses and other professionals would make the patients more comfortable in both physical and emotional and show one that they indeed know what the patient is going through. That would change the normal routine for handling sick people to a way of showing compassion to consumers. Hence, the patient would have a good recovery process within a shorter duration.
