Groupthink occurs when employees collectively decide to make a decision of not participating in the decision-making process of change to maintain group harmony. In situations where change is needed within an organization, employees are the first to be affected and may form a resistance. This situation creates a "us versus them" mentality that is expressed when a group feels threatened. This mentality holds them back from taking part in the change process (Robbins, & Judge, 2019).
