Peer relationships are vital in childhood development since they are predictors of an individual's positive or negative behavior. In this case, children that thrive in positive peer relationships are well-adapted have healthy friendships throughout their childhood to adulthood. However, children in negative peer relationships are likely to have problems during their development and future. Notably, popular children are likable to their peers and are likely to influence the behavior of others. Again, children's social status depends on whom they spend most of their time with and how they influence others (Lightfoot et al., 2018).
