Primary preventions are measures that are taken to prevent and keep the onset of a disease (injury or illness) before it starts affecting people. Such measures include regular exercise and immunization. For instance, one would make it a habit by engaging in regular exercise to avoid opportunistic diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure (Xu et al., 2019). Children below nine months are also immunized against several diseases like polio and diphtheria, among other diseases.
Secondary preventions, on the other hand, are measures taken for early diagnosis for a specific condition before it becomes complex. This is always done to stop the disease from spreading (Hope, & Haire, (2019). Examples include self-examination and screening against diseases like high blood pressure and cancer.
