The Syrian war is arguably one of the longest civil war of the twenty-first century. Having begun in the year 2011, the civil war is a multi-sided war that is fought between foreign and domestic allies, coupled with a myriad of international and internal forces that oppose the Syrian government and the Syrian president leading the Ba’athist Syrian Arab Republic. President Bashar al-Assad’s thirst for power and disagreements with local and foreign leaders has worsened the status of the country. As such, access to basic amenities has become hard to come by.
