Nurses are one of the key players in health promotion and implementation of various medical findings in the health sector. This goes as far as developing simple tools for communication with patients and other stakeholders. In the ancient times nurses used to carry out minor roles such as feeding patients, cleaning them and passing objects to the physicians. This was a weird interpretation of the name ‘nurse’ as per the old days; this contributed greatly to low medical findings and increase in mortality rates. The nurses themselves with the connection they have with the patients they are also supposed to establish good will with the patients. Hence in this paper I’m going to fully reflect on my journey as a nurse and dig deep to expatiate on the very core roles of the nurses and how technology is slowly changing their practice.
First and foremost, the present day nurse performs more complex chores than those of the past all credit goes to changing times and complexity of matters at hand. This means that in the current state nurses can handle or make decisions that were used to be made by the doctor in the past.
