One of the most critical factors in determining the suitability of a Community Health Needs Assessment is its effectiveness. A health organization is obligated by law to conduct this kind of assessment every three years. This is according to the Affordable Care Act of 2010. However, this law is only relevant to tax-exempt health institutions. For this study, I have chosen the Community Health Needs Assessment of Florida Hospital Altamonte. It has an effective CHNA combines several elements. For example, it has been able to showcase and demonstrate the clinical, technical and organizational resources and capabilities of the hospital.
The Florida Hospital Altamonte in the state of Florida is one of the best and in the region. It is a tax-exempt health provider and is therefore subject to the requirements of the Affordable Care Act which require it to conduct a CHNA. The hospital has a well-established reputation of providing quality health care to the surrounding community. This is in spite of the challenge posed by poor and impoverished communities living in Central Florida. The current economic hardships have posed a significant problem. Altamonte Hospital, however, has proven capable of putting in place mechanisms and strategies to ensure that the local community remains healthy. It is noteworthy that Central Florida is home to close to 9% of unemployed people. Unemployment has, in turn, led to inadequate housing and poverty levels.
