The Advantages and Drawbacks of Health Management Information Systems (HMIS)
Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) is slowly creeping into the healthcare system. HMIS is bound to aid caregivers to offer patients with better wellness services by providing accurate and complete patient information that is up-to-date (Shickel et al., 2017). It will also make work easier for medical personnel through the provision of quick access to patient data, thereby creating an avenue for more efficient care. Before its adoption, there had to be some professionals maintaining records. Once HMIS, is brought in, most of them will lose their jobs. That translates into the loss of productivity as well as revenue (Korb-Savoldelli et al., 2018).
