Data Analysis and Quality Improvement
Introduction
Today, hospitals across the world are in constant pursuit for improvement in the quality of care in order to raise the reputation of the hospitals, achieve a better working environment, and increase the positive health outcomes among patients. Some of the basic requirements to improve quality in care include support from the administration and the medical staff, efficient quality improvement (QI) innovations, a collaboration of different healthcare stakeholders, effective communication, and continuous learning of evidence-based practices (Zingg et al., 2015).
Nurses play a crucial role in a health facility when it comes to the provision of quality care and the implementation of quality improvement initiatives. They are the immediate personnel that is in close contact with patients hence form an important body when an initiative is geared towards improving the quality of healthcare for the patients. In order to determine the basics and requirements of initiating a quality improvement initiative, the dashboard metrics help in coming up with ways in which the problems facing a health facility can be determined.
