ADHD is a childhood disorder affecting the neurodevelopment of childhood. It eventually extends up to adulthood. The condition affects the activeness, attention, and behavioral amusive control of the child. The symptoms projected by the children with ADHD grow severe and can eventuality lead to difficulties at home and school: these symptoms include talking too much, hard time resisting temptations, forgetting things a lot, a lot of daydreaming, and problems in getting along with others. The symptoms of ADHD in adulthood, like hyperactivity, may become more extreme when the demands increases and cause difficulties at work (What is ADHD?). This paper discusses women with ADHD and how it is harder to diagnose and misdiagnose most females.
From studies, the biases in females and recognition for diagnosis of ADHD causes an illogical ratio between men and women diagnosed with ADHD. Therefore, women diagnosed with ADHD have differences in the symptoms they portray, comorbidity, and associated function compared to males with ADHD. This study is focused on the provision of a better understanding of females with ADHD to make improvements on the recognition and referral of the female gender: this will help in developing a better comprehensive assessment of the women with ADHD and providing appropriate treatment to them
