The Evolution of American Democracy is an important political development recorded from early the nineteenth century, years before the Civil War. The lengthy clash is characterized by a patriotic devotion to the epitome of liberty and freedom (Smith, 2014). It forever constitutes a robust heritage of the Americans. In contrast, the reconstruction is a reference to the period spent in restructuring the United States following the civil war. These events account for the American Revolution during the colonial crisis.
Based on Republican founders, the United States was regarded as a republic, unlike a democracy, and an Electoral College was adopted into the 1787 constitution. The Electoral College then was responsible for electing the president and the vice president of the republic, in every lapse of four years. A majority of the Americans adopt the majority rule in the early 1820s as opposed to the regime of submission inclined to family lineage and levels of education. Thus in order to survive during elections, the precedent lot of politicians find it necessary to give in to the mood and resentments of the ordinary citizens.
