The contemporary society is a complex and intertwined world where diversity forms the foundation of modern civilization. As a result of technological advancement and globalization, population demographics across the globe are becoming more multicultural. For instance the latest demographic analysis, countries like the U.S. will have no single ethnic majority by the year 2055, as noted by Holodny (2015). Consequently, the paradigm shift towards a multicultural population is bound to significantly affect the future workforce and influence how managers will approach the issue of diversity within the workplace. Going forward, corporate leaders that understand the benefits of diversity within their companies will have a competitive edge with respect to recruitment and selection of talent (Foma, 2014). In the contemporary globalized world, the idea of diversity goes beyond recruiting employees from different races, gender, or religious persuasions. Within the context of a workplace, a multicultural workforce means engaging workers with different ideologies or people who have undergone a different upbringing or education system.
