Pepsi, a firm that produces a variety of products which include drink beverages and different foods, is the firm I chose to complete this assignment. There are various branches of the firm that are located in different countries and continents, making it a global manufacturer. Pepsi has been one of the best foods producing companies that provide its customers with quality drinks and foods. However, the industry has grown, and there are other emerging firms. The emerging companies create products that can serve the same purpose as Pepsi products, although they are not similar. Pepsi has maintained the quality of the goods they make regardless of the competition by other firms.
Competition is a trend that has caused an impact on the firm. Customers are decreasing as they find other firms producing other products that they can use instead of Pepsi products. People may shift from using goods provided by one firm to another due to reasons such as price difference, quality of products, or to try new products (Chakravarthy et al., 4031). However, there are ways that the firm can use to maintain customers. Offering quality products, under-promising, and over-delivering, listening to customer's feedback, and having a goof kit to send customers when there are mistakes made helps in maintaining customers (Purkayastha and Adapa, 82). It is also risky for Pepsi to use these strategies since competitors may use the same approach to attract customers from Pepsi and retain them.
