Human Resource Management (HRM) is an organizational practice of managing people and teams in the workplace. It is a function that covers a broad range of activities, including recruiting and hiring, training and development, performance management and appraisal, compensation and benefits, and organizational development (Perucci, 2018). It is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable legal requirements.
The recruitment and selection process involves identifying and hiring the right people for a job. It can include attracting potential employees, evaluating their qualifications, and conducting interviews and background checks (Perucci, 2018). Recruitment and selection activities are designed to identify the most qualified individuals for a particular job.
Training and development help employees acquire new skills and knowledge to perform their jobs better. It includes orientation programs, on-the-job training, and formal education programs (Perucci, 2018). Training and development activities help organizations keep up with changes in technology and the work environment and can help employees stay updated with the latest developments in their field.
Additionally, a significant function of HRM in an organization is compensation and benefits.
