Think about what types of issues benefit from having interest groups associated with them. Do these groups act altruistically? Do they act for the betterment of corporations or individuals?
Interest groups refers to a group of persons or organizations who have a common interest and advocates towards that interest. Representatives of these groups plays a significant role in influencing laws and regulations. For instance, they go to court to challenge existing laws which according to them are not fit (Gilens and Page, 2014). Moreover, interest groups mobilize people in the “grassroots” to pile pressure to the legislators to create new laws to control a certain situation. Interest groups can take legal actions like taking their grievances to a court of law. Human rights are among the issues that have massive merits by chance of being associated with these groups i.e. being protected by interest groups. Interest groups act in unselfish manner .They act for the betterment of individuals as they champion for their interests.
