Introduction
In any organization or business venture, the key objective is to ensure employees are motivated to improve productivity and reduce turnover. According to research, more than 30% of employees globally do not feel motivated in their careers or the workplace due to factors such as micromanagement, job insecurity, poor communications and disagreements with coworkers. It goes without saying that, motivated employees are more productive and innovative. Innovation is an essential in producing quality goods and services. Therefore, it is the role of managers to ensure they create an enabling environment that inspires and motivates employees to work hard and try new better ideas.

Management should ensure there are safe working conditions for workers such as clean air, proper lighting, good food and other incentives to ensure employees are satisfied and continue to stay in the firm. Motivation reduces employee’s turnover and makes workers feel valued and part of the organization.
