This paper undertakes a comprehensive analysis of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) to determine the company's approach toward organizational behavior and how that approach affects the company's operations.
Doctors Without Borders or Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) was established in 1971 in France by a team of physicians and journalists in the aftermath of the Biafra, Nigeria war, and famine (Doctors Without Borders, n.d.). The founders' goal was to create an independent entity dedicated to providing emergency medical humanitarian assistance in a timely, productive, and impartial manner. The founders built MSF on the principle that all humans, irrespective of gender, ethnic background, religious doctrine, creed, or political allegiance, ought to have access to high-quality medical services. The members pledged from the beginning to care for patients and call attention to their struggles and speak out to draw attention to the issues that drive emergency needs.
