Canadian Universities have over some time been on the headlines based on the fact that the students tend to be unprepared and unmotivated. Thus this has resulted in the engagement by organizations to build upon strong foundations of numeracy with the intentions of preparing the students for their future, which tends to be unpredictable and complex (CMEC, 2019). One of the primary reasons which have resulted in the student to be termed as unprepared and unmotivated is because the institutions major on accommodating all kinds of students from across the world. Therefore this implies that there is no form of scrutiny which is applied in selecting the students.
The other reason is that Canadian schools tend to be guided by common school ideals, which have over the years, resulted in the lack of motivation of the students. The reason for this is because these ideals tend to bridge a gap between the boys and girls while at the institution, which is not advisable among the university students. Other than bridging the difference between the boys and the girls, the standards also bring about the gap between the ideals and reality, which results in the students not being able to harmonize whatever it is that they learn from the university with the reality.
