In the provision of education, various stakeholders must play specific roles to ensure efficiency in education services. Parents, teachers, and board members are among the key stakeholders in the education sector since they double their contribution at home and school. The parents are obliged to collaborate with the other stakeholders and themselves to ensure that their children's education is of high quality. Collaboration from various stakeholders is essential as if they work together, they will have a productive service delivery (Lawson,2004). The collaboration of the parents varies from different levels. Intra governmental collaborations involve parents who at different levels work together to ensure interdependency in their relationship to create a good environment for education (Young et al., 2018). An example is when parents from different states collaborate to promote a common way of offering education. Inter-governmental collaboration is where governments, both national and local governments, work with parents to ensure service delivery accountability (Lawson,2004). International collaboration is one in which parents from more than one nation come together to ensure that all groups of people, more so the disadvantaged, are considered in accessing education (Sykes & Gachago, 2018).
The various stakeholders in education are guided by their different motives, which help them provide perfect education (Young et al., 2018). Some are described to be driven by moral altruism. They render a given service to the education sector with no expectation of immediate returns, or they may not benefit directly. For example, parents contribute to building a classroom in which his/her child is not yet grown to start schooling but will join the school in the future. Enlightened self-interest involves parents who give out their service in collaboration with others as they target to get improved results in their delivery (Lawson,2004).
