ESSAY QUESTION: Describe and discuss what is meant by the macro/micro study of the global order, including such concepts as the expansion of the technological, economic and social order of the planet, from the past to the present. Present your understanding of the course concepts of how our world became and is stratified, with great wealth and great poverty from the engines of development like industrialization. In your conclusion try to position yourself in this global order that is stratified: are you a "global citizen" - in what ways? Do you think that you are ethnocentric in any way? Explain the meaning the concepts that you use without merely defining them. Your own words should be used, keeping in mind the accuracy and factuality of information that you present. You need to do your writing of the essay individually. The class conversations are ways to share ideas, but your written essays are yours alone. Keep in mind that the essay assignment allows you to make selections fro the materials and that doing so is part of grappling with all of the material and thinking through the breadth and depth of the material.

The world has become increasingly interconnected. Currently, the enhancements in technology and trade have caused national boundaries to be somewhat inexistent. Terms such as global citizenship and global order have been emerging. There is always the talk of a new world order that is being crafted by the most powerful nations on earth. For this reason, the term citizenship has also seen its boundaries expanded. Nonetheless, the concept of global citizenship may seem to be a new one, but it dates back to ancient Greeks (Reysen & Katzarska-Miller, 2013). It has gained new popularity especially among people who want to contribute their efforts toward a better world. Global order is characterized by new era of history evidencing a paradigm shift in world economic, social and technological direction and the balance of power. This paper is an in-depth coverage of concepts such as global citizenship, macro and micro study of global order and expansion of technological, economic and social order of this planet throughout the years. To be effective global citizens, the young people must understand that global citizenship is a mindset that is nurtured to enable them to possibly change the world for the better.
