Some human activities, such as negligent trashing and excessive dependability on fossil fuels contribute to a myriad of hazards that contaminate the environment. Once the ecosystem is unable to neutralize the harmful effects of pollution, the quality of life is affected. Eventually, living organisms may begin to die or suffer long-term damages due to an exposure to toxic by-products that disrupt their cell physiology. Though there are documented processes of reversing the effects of pollution, they are considerably sluggish, and I would rather focus on preventive measures that, besides supporting cheap supply of renewable energy, criminalize irresponsible dumping and sanction use of synthetic fertilizers.
Not throwing paints, oils, or other forms of litter in water bodies may help curb the water pollution menace.
