Additionally, many people are preferring to work independently by having the freedom to work while financing the life they want in a free economy. Many countries including the United Kingdom (UK) are providing conducive environments for businesses to create job opportunities for the citizens as a way of recovering for the 2008 financial depression. For instance, the population of drivers operating with private hire licenses in the city of London has increased to 116,228 between 2016 and 2017 from 59,191 between 2009 and 2010 (Frank & Forsey 2016). Although Uber, which uses a smartphone app to serve its customers takes a substantial number of the drivers in the country, its functions are believed to cause ethical ripples in many of the stakeholders based on the utilitarian approach
