How CPD affects practice in the work that a HLTA does
Continuous Professional development is important in teaching and learning among HLTA. Some of the effects include that CPD builds the confidence of the teacher and their credibility in their work, enabling them to deliver efficiently (Vonk 2018). CPD is also an asset that a HLTA can show during employee appraisals, and could lead to motivation of other HLTAs (DiPaola and Wagner 2018). Further, it enables the HLTA to achieve their career goals and improve the quality of services delivered to the learners, as well as advancing the knowledge of HLTAs and skills in their role (Fullan 2018). This makes the teacher more efficient and productive within their workplace.
