DIGITAL MEDIA ARCHITECTURE
There is a very interesting relationship between digital media and architectural space. Digital media impacts and influences architectural space in away that is unique. Use of light in media facades greatly intrudes into the private space of people. Media facades are layers of lights that can be controlled by individual persons. Most of the building facades contain digital media. They have been animated in such a way that they flicker like diamonds in the sky. This takes place all over the world. Most of the building in the world seems like they do compete in terms of appearance. Many of the buildings now days tend to out-do one another in outlook through mind-boggling. Digital media has helped architecture to get opportunities that it did not have there before. Through digital media, buildings have been in most cases used as a tool to display cultural values, norms and psyche. For some time, facades have been isolated from structures that bear the load and started acting like technological and formal experimentations. Architecture has now started using facades through digital media in technological experiments. Most of the cities across the globe are lighted by the facades of the buildings. Most of the architecture designs for the facades are in such a way that they will appeal to the eyes of the city. To achieve this, architecture has incorporated digital media through technology. Digital media are now transforming the face of the art of architecture, especially in urban centers and cities. Most digital media facades are used to light the city hence providing urban centers with a new perspective as the city is colored with the buildings. The dynamic lighting contributes to the provision of a creative outlet, a sense of protection and creates a platform that can be shared for play.
