Dressing codes in an organization
The way a man or a woman dress describes what kind of a person he or she is. Since invention
of clothing, people have always dressed for the purpose to cover themselves up
and to impress others and themselves. First impression is significant in any first encounter. It
gives the whole picture over the identity of a person and what is expected of him or her.
Fashion have improved over the years from a simple clothing to complicated form of
clothing. Some of the latest fashion includes wear of tight cloth with slits at the back especially
for women. This has raised an outcry in the society over the moral issue but has been
considered fashion to many. The way a person dress can directly influence way a person thinks.
One can clearly be judged to be morally straight or misjudged for being sexual oriented. To
keep being uniform, organization has come up with diverse modes of dressing codes. The codes
are build to ensure a standardized for attire that is wore, which is presentable and decent.
In any aspect of the society, the issue about sex is always a significant one.Organisation wants
to present their member decent as well as keep in mind the issue over sexuality. Short attire
with women are sexually attractive but sometimes they may not be comfortable to wear. Long
dresses are considered old fashion,un-attractive and may be too casual. A middle way form of
dressing is therefore required especially for the women which normally is the a dress slightly
above the knees.
Fashion and fashion designers have come up with numerous way to come up with an
acceptable mode of dressing. Different form of dressing have been made where some seem fit

and acceptable for a given organization while for others there deemed to exposing.Diferent
organization has gone with the dressing code of insisting in the wearing of trousers by their
female workforce while for the men, they have been restricted to wearing suits only. A trouser
is both flexible and easy to move around but to many critics ,it lacks the sexual appeal
especially with the ladies.
It is a virtuous act to look both decent but at the same time have a sexual appeal. This attracts
customers to any given organization. However many organization have been critically blamed
for being too sexual. The extent of how a person should dress should be according to the
dressing code clearly portrayed in the organization policy. Women normally find themselves on
the limelight over how they should dress. Ever person has freedom to dress but there should be
limits especially when it comes to a working environment. This has resulted to individual
freedom and employment right conflicting resulting to battles between employer and the
employee(Kukemuller.2015).
The form of dressing for many people is a direct message in regard to the quality of work

work, while an untidy way of dressing directly portrays carelessness and indecency. Companies
therefore find them with a hard task in ensuring a decent form of clothing has been
implemented in their organization.
Suits and uniform are among the most commonly wore dresses in an organization. A uniform
indicates formality and brings about a sense of equality for everyone. Allowing any form of
dressing in an organization normally results to competition and a sense of disunity as the
employees finds themselves having a wide range of choices to choose from.
The main purpose for a dressing code is both to ensure the right ethics re port raid in a

impression to the customer. An employee however has to be given a choice to wear what he
or she feels more decent to wear while at the same time sticks to the rules over dressing code.
